Prime Day: 10 Book Deals You Can’t Miss

Prime Day 2024 is here and the only thing I love more than buying books is getting a good deal when buying books. And so, without further ado here are 10 amazing amazon book deals.

1. Vicious

When I tell you that this has been one of my favorite reads ever I am not exaggerating. This had me switching who I was rooting for time and time again with its morally grey characters and anti-heroes, which layers of complexity to this enthralling narrative. V. E. Schwab vividly crafts a gritty, comic-book-style world where acquiring superpowers doesn’t guarantee heroism, and allegiances are constantly tested.

2. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

Even though I read Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow in its publication year, 2022, it still remains a book I think about from time to time. It’s a masterfully imagined novel that delves into the complexities of identity, disability, and failure. It highlights redemptive power and our deep-seated need for connection and love. Yet I believe that the love story will be something you have not seen done before.

3. If You Could See the Sun

Now this was such a thought provoking book that makes one think about how privilege not only impacts those who have it but also seeps into the lives of those who don’t. In this magical-realism YA debut, a Chinese American girl discovers she has the power to become invisible and seizes the opportunity to monetize her unique ability by uncovering and selling the most scandalous secrets of her wealthy classmates. As she navigates the complexities of her newfound powers and the high-stakes world of privileged secrets, she finds herself embroiled in a web of intrigue, danger, and unexpected consequences.

4. A Dawn of Onyx

This book is your typical fantasy romance read but I give it props for giving everything that this genre promises. Arwen Valondale, our FMC, is thrust into bravery by saving her brother’s life and finds herself a prisoner in the perilous Onyx Kingdom. Amidst treacherous royals and dark forces, Arwen must unlock her dormant power to survive and perhaps find freedom for her heart as well as her life. So even though it’s not the newest idea on the block, it still executes the premise very well and made me pick up the next book in the series quickly after finishing.

5. Listen for the Lie

Let me set the scene: we’re in Plumpton Texas and Lucy wakes up believing she’s killed her best friend and when she finally gets to piecing together the shattered memories of that fateful night, she uncovers hidden motives and dark secrets. Is she the murderer, or is something more sinister at play? This gripping whodunit, with parts written like a podcast, will keep you guessing until the very end.

6. The Invisible Life of Addie Larue

If you didn’t grab a hard copy of this viral sensation back when it came out when it was blowing up all over TikTok, now wouldn’t be a bad time to add it to your shelf. In 1714 France, Addie strikes a deal for eternal life but is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she encounters, embarking on an extraordinary, centuries-spanning adventure across continents and history to make her mark on the world. It honestly reminded me so much of The Age of Adeline, which is an amazing movie in my opinion. At less than half its regular price this gorgeous book, both inside and out, really is a steal.

7. They Both Die at the End Series

To be honest, I thought that this was going to be slightly cheese when I picked it up a few years ago, but it turned out to be a profoundly moving and thought-provoking journey, filled with depth and heart. Adam Silvera’s poignant tale reminds us that life and death, love and loss, are inextricably linked. This devastating yet uplifting story follows two people whose lives are transformed over the course of one unforgettable day.

8. When the Moon Hatched

I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover but just look at this beauty. Nevertheless, as the only book on this list that I have yet to read I can’t comment with my thoughts and so I’ll let a quick synopsis speak for itself: In the aftermath of the dragons’ unexpected flight and fall, Raeve, a skilled Elding Blade of the rebellion, faces a dramatic upheaval when a notorious bounty hunter targets her. Meanwhile, Kaan Vaegor, burdened by grief and haunted by his own quest, discovers a shackled figure in a prison who challenges everything he thought he knew about reality and truth.

9. The Chronicles of Narnia

Snagging this seven book set for less than $20 will definitely be something to brag about. Full of adventures and wonder these books are perfect for not just kids but adults of all ages. As CS Lewis once said, “Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”

10. Percy Jackson and the Olympians

As my favorite childhood series that I still reread every now and then, I cannot recommend this enough. It is so fun and Riordan does a perfect job of capturing how a sassy teenager would act in this crazy yet intriguing world of Greek mythology.

Prime Day will run from July 16-17 so don’t wait too long to add these to your cart and make that new addition to your bookshelf!
